CHAO means "the wave of now" in Chinese - where timeless craft meets contemporary elegance. Founded in Guangzhou, we are revolutionising leather luxury with our exquisite handcrafted bags embraced by Parisian tastemakers and New York minimalists.
Our Story
In 2008, master leathersmith Chen Wei quit his job at a European luxury factory. Frustrated by wasted exotic skins, he pioneered sustainable techniques in his Guangzhou apartment studio. When a French buyer discovered his python-trimmed tote at a Shanghai market stall, she gasped: "This stitch puts Hermès to shame!" CHAOBAG was born.
Today, our 12 master artisans in Guangzhou's historic craft district create fewer than 500 bags annually. Each piece carries the soul of Chinese craftsmanship reimagined for global connoisseurs.
